From their sheep

Shepherds, dear, kneel at Thy feet.

Jesus, sleep!

Wise men creep

To Thy bed with gifts so sweet.

 

Jesus, rest!

From the west

Sorrow will Thy footsteps greet.

Jesus, rest!

Man, distressed,

Follows soon Thy peace-shod feet!
