13. Thirteenth Carol
Christmas morn is bright and fair
Glittering snow is lying deep;
Still and keen the frosty air;
Low the laden branches sweep,
Pure and new the sacred day,
As when in manger Jesus lay.
Bells ring sweetly o’er the snow,
Peaceful lies the mantled earth;
Two by two the people go
To the church for Jesu’s birth
To offer thanks and praise His name,
Who down to earth to save us came.
As my birthday comes I love
Gifts from relatives to receive;
So I must to Him above
Something precious to me give;
I will give my treasured part,
Give to Him my loving heart.
