Thirteenth Carol for Heather

Christmas morn is bright and fair,

Glittering snow is lying deep;

Still and keen the frosty air,

Low and laden branches sweep.

Pure and new the sacred day

When in manger Jesus lay.

Bells ring sweetly over the snow,

Peaceful lies the mantled earth.

Two by two the people go

To the church for Jesu’s birth.

Offering thanks in Jesu’s name

Who to save us downward came.

As my birthday comes I love

Gifts from relatives to receive;

So I must to Him above

Something precious of me give.

I will give my treasured part,

I will give my loving heart.
