31. Delight
Warriors win renown
And seek a victor’s crown:
They strain and strive
To keep alive
The spark that in them glows
By mastering their foes.
And some win happiness
In baubles they possess;
And to their store
Add more and more,
The wells that feed their springs
Lie in material things.
Some live without a name
And shun ephemeral fame,
Seeking delight
In what they write;
E’en though their artless words
Migrate like birds.
