Collegia – Ode 61: A Spring Morn

London is fair this morning,
The day’s in her second doze,
And through the haze
Come the warm rays
Of sun on the basking Close,
To aid to the City’s noise scorning!

A cry like the hunter’s clear horning,
A hum as of far distant foes,
Buildings smile
For once in a while,
The warm red chimney gleams as a rose,
London is fair this morning!
